What is Knotetaker?
Today, a capture-first personal tool. You jot a thought — an idea, a note, a link — in a couple of seconds, and Knotetaker does the work of enriching and connecting it so it’s useful to you later.
But that’s the starting point, not the destination. The bigger, more fun idea is a personal memory with a reasoning brain — something that quietly makes connections across everything you’ve handed it and brings the right thing back at the right moment. This is a learning-in-public experiment: I’m building it to play with, and learn from, what today’s AI can really do for a second brain. Expect it to grow in fun directions. More on the About page.
Is this a real product?
It’s a labor of love — a hobby project I build to learn about AI. It’s not a company, and it comes with no guarantees, no support desk, and no promises. Please treat it accordingly and read the Terms.
What inspired Knotetaker?
A long love of note-taking tools — and a real tip of the hat to Captio, the iOS app that pioneered friction-free “jot it and send it to yourself” capture. Captio (now retired) inspired a whole genre of quick-capture apps, and Quick is our homage to that idea: open, type, done. Where Captio stopped at your inbox, Knotetaker keeps going — connecting what you capture into something useful later.
Is Quick the whole thing?
Not even close — this is the very start. Quick is just one entry point into knotetaker.ai, and it’s an early experiment we’re actively testing. Expect more surfaces and ideas over time as I learn what’s genuinely useful. Thoughts and suggestions are always welcome: billwatt@gmail.com.
Who can use it?
It’s invite-only while it’s small. Anyone can request access, but new sign-ins join a waitlist until I approve them — that keeps the group close to friends and family for now.
Is my data private?
Your data is used only to run the service. I don’t sell it, don’t send marketing, and don’t train my own models on it. Details are in the Privacy Policy. Please don’t store anything sensitive (passwords, financial or medical info, government IDs).
Can I use it from Europe?
No — Knotetaker is US-based and makes no claim of GDPR compliance. If you’re in the EU, EEA, or UK, please don’t use it. See the Terms.
How do I get in touch?
